The Cytron MC-38 Magnetic Contact Switch Sensor is a wired magnetic reed switch designed for door, window, and access monitoring applications. It consists of a reed switch and matching magnet that work together to detect opening or closing movements. The sensor operates with a normally open (NO) contact configuration, closing the circuit when the magnet is positioned near the switch. It features an activation distance of approximately 15–25 mm, supports operating voltages from 3V to 24V DC, and is rated for up to 100 mA switching current. Housed in a compact white plastic enclosure with adhesive mounting, the MC-38 is suitable for security alarm systems, smart home automation, access control systems, and microcontroller-based projects such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi applications.
