It is one of the hardest materials available and suitable for most applications. Due to adhesive pickup, ruby tips are not recommended for scanning aluminium parts.The exothermic welding process is a method of making electrical connections of copper to copper or copper to steel in which no outside source of heat or power is required. In this process, granular metals (granular copper oxide and aluminium) are placed from a container into a graphite crucible and ignited. This process is a cost effective method of completing a high quality electrical connection and is also simple to follow.
