The oscillator produces an alternating electromagnetic field that exits the detection area of the sensor. Any metallic object penetrating this field is then detected. This general purpose threaded cylindrical (M8) inductive proximity sensor is made of stainless steel and it is flush mountable. Its nominal sensing distance is 1.5mm, it supports 1 normally open + 1 normally closed PNP discrete output and it has a switching frequency of 5000Hz.
