OTHER SERVICES / Fire Alarm Visual Inspection Service

As stated in Fire Services Act 1988, a Fire Certificate (FC) shall be issued by BOMBA (Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia) to buildings with a high risk of catching fire but are deemed safe to be occupied.

The responsibility for application and renewal of the Fire Certificate (FC) falls to the building owner, occupant, and the building management committee. Renewal of the Fire Certificate must be made annually.

One of the main criteria that plays a crucial part in the issuance of FC is the fire alarm system. In any building that is equipped with a fire alarm system, the system acts as the first line of defence in providing primary warning to save lives and assets. The system can provide various forms of notification such as visual, audio and even voice alerts to notify occupants. At the highest form of efficiency, the fire alarm system must also be able to alert the local fire department and other emergency responders in the event of a fire.

Property insurers and most fire code regulations require the system to be properly maintained and inspected at regular intervals. A fire alarm system may look like it is fully functional but as it gets more complex, more things could go haywire, and thus prevents it from performing the way it should. Some property owners may not even realize how their system is meant to work and do not realize it until it malfunctions in an emergency, which could be too late where lives could be lost and cost thousands in damages.

With our visual inspection, we would conduct a thorough preliminary inspection on your fire alarm panels, detectors, modules, notification appliances, and other related items to ensure that your system is in place and in good working condition.

After understanding the status of the existing system, our professional team will come up with an enhancement proposal that complies to BOMBA requirements in FC issuance. In order to fasten the inspection process, clients are recommended to provide the Fire Alarm schematic/single line diagram and as-built drawing for our study. There will be FREE mobility charges for site testing within Klang Valley and additional mobility charges will be incurred for any site testing out of Klang Valley. Charges for site testing will be waived should the client accept our proposal and agree to proceed with the enhancement works.
